Our Ambitions

Eurodefense is a European network of national associations dedicated to promoting a unified European security and defence identity. It aims to foster cooperation among EU and other European countries to strengthen Europe’s strategic defence capabilities. The network emphasizes collaboration, rapid decision-making, and maintaining strong transatlantic ties.

·       Origins and expansion: Eurodefense began with a small group in France in 1993 and expanded to include associations across EU countries, each named EuroDéfense followed by the country’s name, culminating in an international network established in 2001. Eurodefense-UK was founded in 1996.

·       Core beliefs and goals: The network believes that Europe cannot have effective defence without unity and seeks a unified and efficient European defence, recognizing the necessity of cooperation for Europe to remain a significant strategic player.

·       Activities and governance: Eurodefense operates through biannual Presidents’ Council meetings; annual international meetings; European Working Groups, producing joint resolutions and position papers to influence decision-makers.; and public and private on-line seminars.
